CBS All Access has released the official trailer for their new half-hour animated comedy “Star Trek: Lower Decks” – the first irreverent spin-off of the long-running franchise.
“Rick and Morty” veteran Mike McMahan developed the series which focuses on the support crew that lives in the bowels at the very bottom of the U.S.S. Cerritos – known as one of the Starfleet’s least important ships – set in the Next Generation/DS9 era of the late 24th century.
The ten-episode series, which has already been renewed, will premiere weekly on Thursdays starting August 6th. It joins live-action series “Star Trek: Discovery,” “Star Trek: Picard” and the upcoming “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”.
