Sylvester Stallone Joins The Suicide Squad
Both Sylvester Stallone and director James Gunn revealed on social media that Stallone would be joining The Suicide Squad.Stallone worked with Gunn previously on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, playing Ravager Stakar Ogord, who in the comics is known as Starhawk – aka the leader a different version of the Guardians of the Galaxy that includes Major Victory, Martinex, Charlie-27, and Yondu.Gunn wrote on Twitter, “Always love working with my friend @TheSlyStallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is.”

Stallone, likewise, took to Instagram and posted “Working with this incredible Director on this astounding project has made this an amazing year. I am a very lucky man to be surrounded by such talent.! #Warner Bros.”

Stallone originally posted an IG video of himself announcing his involvement in The Suicide Squad, but it has since been deleted. You can watch the original video here.

So who might Stallone be playing in the Suicide Squad given than the movie’s wrapped principal photography? And also that Stallone himself says he’s “seen” the movie (link above)? Perhaps it’s a voice role. Maybe Weasel of King Shark (though at least the physical forms of those roles are being performed by Steve Agee and Sean Gunn, respectively).

Meanwhile, HBO Max announced additional cast members for its upcoming Peacemaker series, starring John Cena, which is based on the character from Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
