THOMPSON – A Rockland County man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in Sullivan County.
State police said that Luis A. Mendez Pinto, 35, of Spring Valley, was arrested Wednesday following a joint investigation by their child abuse unit and the county’s Child Protective Services office.
Pinto was charged with predatory sexual assault of a child, a felony. No further details of the alleged crime were released by police.
He is being held without bail in Sullivan County Jail pending a Monday appearance before Thompson Town Justice Martin Miller.
State police said anyone who believes they were a victim of Pinto, or knows someone who was, is asked to call state police at 845-344-5300.
