The LaSalle Police Service is reminding the public to stay off Essex Terminal Railway property after reports of damage along the tracks cause by off-road vehicles.
Police report that rocks adjacent to the railway ties and under the tracks are being eroded and pulled away from the tracks as vehicles travel along, which could eventually cause a train derailment.
The tracks and the corridor of property adjacent to the tracks are privately owned by Essex Terminal Railway. No trespassing signs are posted.
Anyone caught trespassing may be charged by police. As well, information on the incident will be forwarded to the railway company, which may may send a registered letter of trespass to the individual.
