The makers of the sleep app Calm are teaming with HBO Max and some rather attractive celebrities for “A World of Calm,” a TV series in which the likes of Mahershala Ali, Idris Elba, Nicole Kidman, Cillian Murphy, Keanu Reeves, Zoe Kravitz, Lucy Liu and Oscar Isaac read ‘bedtime stories for grown ups’.
Each half-hour episode combines mesmeric imagery with narration as it takes audiences on an immersive visual journey into another world. The series builds on the record-breaking success of Calm’s Sleep Stories which have had over 250 million listens.
Blending scientifically engineered narratives, music and footage, the series will “naturally calm your body and soothe the mind.” Nutopia (Nat Geo’s “One Strange Rock”) are also producing the series with Jane Root, Nicola Moody, Michael Acton Smith and Chris Advansun serving as executive producers.
