Officers with the Irish national police, or Gardaí, were seen chasing a group of people on the night of November 21 in Cork, Ireland, as the city centre reportedly saw large crowds in the streets amid a nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. A quantity of suspected cocaine was reportedly recovered following the chase of a group of young men. Nine people were arrested, and a Garda suffered “minor facial injuries” following the incident, reports said. Officials confirmed that the chase seen in the video is related to the incident. They clarified that the crowds were complying with COVID-19 restrictions, and constituted “family groups and bubbles… enjoying the Christmas lights, takeaway festive drinks and food.” Credit: Ali Hamou via Storyful
