A dad repeatedly raped his 11-year-old stepdaughter who later choked their baby to death when he wouldn’t stop crying, it is reported.
The evil man, 56, who cannot be named to protect the girl’s identity, began raping her in 1992 but police only caught him last year.
At the time the abuse began he was 28 and she was just 11.
Horrifically, the abuse lasted five years – happening at the family home in Western Australia, and during a family holiday.
When the victim was 14, she fell pregnant with the rapist’s child but kept the pregnancy a secret, the Perth District Court heard.
She gave birth to her baby boy in the toilets of a caravan park but as she tried to stop him from crying she ended up suffocating him, the Sun reports.
The baby was found the next day by a cleaner.
Meanwhile, the stepfather continued to rape the girl until she was 16.
Police caught him in September last year after the girl, now 39, had her fingerprints taken for an unrelated matter – and they matched prints taken at the toilet cubicle 24 years previous.
The woman was initially charged with murder but her guilty plea to the charge of infanticide was accepted by prosecutors and she was given a suspended sentence, ABC News reports.
Judge David MacLean told the man on Thursday: “You took away the right the victim had to a have a happy and safe childhood … you relentlessly used her for your sexual gratification.”
The man was given an eight and a half year jail term after admitting sexually abusing the girl.
