BORIS JOHNSON is set to announce a raft of changes in a ‘back-to-work’ speech at Downing Street today.

Among others, the Prime Minister is set to introduce the ‘lightning lockdowns’ concept, which will give councils extra powers to impose restrictions quicker to prevent an outbreak of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Mr Johnson will reveal that the NHS are to receive an extra £3billion in funding to help prepare them for future waves.

It is set to help provide extra hospital capacity to battle against Covid-19 while allowing routine treatments and procedures to continue.
