MagSafe Duo Charger works with any Qi-compatible devices
At a hefty price of RM589, the Apple charger can charge any Qi-compatible device, but only the iPhone 12 which has MagSafe can magnetically mount to the pad. The other side of the charging pad is slightly smaller to match the size of the Apple Watch and its centre can be brought out from the pad so that those with loop bands can charge their watches without removing the straps.
You’re still not getting a charging brick
However, just like the new iPhones, you won’t be getting a charging brick when you purchase the MagSafe Duo Charger. You’ll get a USB-C to Lightning cable, meaning that you’ll need to buy a USB-C charger if you don’t own one. It’ll also have to be at least 20W if you want 11W wireless charging, but your best option is to get a 27W or higher USB-C charger if you want to enjoy 14W of fast wireless charging.
The MagSafe Duo Charger is priced at RM589, but if you have no need for two charging spots, you can also get the MagSafe Charger at RM179. As for the charging brick, you can also purchase Apple’s 20W USB-C power adapter at RM99 or the 30W version at RM189.
